In conjunction with CFJ-Beit Ummar, our sister organization, we provide sustainable community development and educational programs to help Beit Ummar's residents cope with the oppressive conditions imposed by the Israeli occupation.

CFJ Colorado's mission is to raise public awareness of Beit Ummar, a West Bank Palestinian town in the Hebron District with a population of 22,000, and support its non-violent development in the face of a brutal Israeli occupation. Nestled in Areas B and C under the control of the Israeli military and surrounded by six illegal settlements, Beit Ummar is a microcosm of rural Palestinian life. By educating the public about the Israeli occupation, we seek to end it.
We have worked throughout Colorado to bring more information about the political situation in Palestine to various communities. Our members have spoken in churches, with student groups, and on radio programs. They participate in plays, created a travel Palestine museum, and appear on radio programs. In 2025, we sponsored a major event to highlight the intersectionality between the struggles of Palestinians and Black Americans.
To keep our 1,100 Facebook followers up to date on what is happening in Beit Ummar and surrounding towns, we regularly post news stories and on-the-ground reports from CFJ in Beit Ummar and nearby towns. Follow us on Facebook.
CFJ Colorado sponsored a series of recorded interviews with Palestinian and local activists for the purpose of educating the public about the current situation in the West Bank.
CFJ Colorado believes working with other social activist, church, Palestinian, and Jewish groups in Colorado is an important part of our educational and political work. We were instrumental in developing coalition work in Colorado, which began with a two-day event at a local Denver church in October 2022. It attracted hundreds of Colorado residents to learn about Palestinian culture and life under the Israeli occupation. This led to the formation of the Colorado Palestine Coalition (CPC). Since then, the CPC has become the main organization in Colorado campaigning for human rights in Palestine and changing US policy toward Israel.
CFJ Colorado has raised over $140,000 so far to build the first formal kindergarten in Beit Ummar. We also partner with an organization planning to establish a major non-violent center to be located next to the kindergarten.
To give children a respite from the daily horrors of the occupation, we funded a summer camp that taught computer technology. We also have funded efforts by a women’s agricultural cooperative, purchased backpacks and supplies for school children, and provided emergency aid for families experiencing duress from Israel’s attempt to economically stifle the town.
Track ongoing developments and follow our work as we put your donations to good use. Learn more about the overarching political issues surrounding the town of Beit Ummar.

Beit Ummar
December 30, 2025
Israeli occupation forces carried out a series of invasions, across the Hebron district, abducting an elderly man, a woman, and four children from the towns of Yatta and Beit Ummar. Local activists and eyewitnesses described the operations as part of an ongoing pattern of intimidation targeting residents in the southern West Bank.
Beit Ummar
December 26, 2025
Israeli occupation forces arrested an elderly man, a woman, and four Palestinian children from the towns of Yatta and Beit Ummar in Hebron Governorate, southern West Bank.
Israel’s illegal policies are designed to make Beit Ummar unlivable. Our goal is the opposite. We aim to make life more tolerable until the world community demands that Israel complies with international law and ends its brutal occupation.
By focusing on a single town, we use the example of life in Beit Ummar as a stark example of life under occupation in the West Bank, while also helping to alleviate suffering through the generous donations of our followers. Beit Ummar, is located in the Hebron District which is a main target of Israeli military raids and radical settler attacks.
All donations go to support the work of CFJ in Beit Ummar.
