The Palestinian Cultural Day event at the Museum of Boulder was held on Saturday 5/14/21. It was a critical opportunity for education and networking.

The event included: 

Iman Jodeh, Colorado's first Muslim and Palestinian legislator, kicked off the event

Live Music performed by: The band Thauma accompanied by Catrene Malshy, a Lebanese born Palestinian who sings wonderful Arabic vocals and who teaches Dabke Dancing

An artifact display area with books, art and cultural outfits

A solidarity area hosted by Jewish Voice for Peace: https://www.jewishvoiceforpeace.org/

Arabic name lessons with a fun craft opportunity

Tea readings

Dabke dance lessons

Snacks and refreshments provided by: Saj Cafe, Jerusalem Cafe, Phoenician Kabob

Photo Booth: featuring traditional bedouin outfits

Poetry reading and Slam performances

Artwork produced by children of Palestinian refugee camps

Israeli occupation forces carried out a series of invasions, across the Hebron district, abducting an elderly man, a woman, and four children from the towns of Yatta and Beit Ummar. Local activists and eyewitnesses described the operations as part of an ongoing pattern of intimidation targeting residents in the southern West Bank.
